Berglandmilch plant in Aschbach, Lower Austria, awarded klima:aktiv certificate again.
At the Energy Efficiency Conference in Austria on November 29, Federal Minister Andrä Rupprechter recognised various project partners of the klima:aktiv programme “energy-efficient operations” for their competence in the area of climate protection.
The Berglandmilch plant in Aschbach, Upper Austria, was awarded the klima:aktiv certificate for “climate protection competence” in recognition of its efforts to optimise heat recovery.
“We have been implementing measures and projects to increase energy efficiency in our plants continuously for many years. When planning new projects, it is also important that we take into account various measures to reduce energy consumption. We have also been a ‘klima:aktiv Partner’ since autumn 2014,” explains Josef Braunshofer, Managing Director of Berglandmilch.
“klima:aktiv certificates were also awarded for the Berglandmilch plants in Aschbach, Klagenfurt, Voitsberg, Wels, Feldkirchen, Geinberg and Rohrbach, as well as for the Tirol Milch Wörgl plant,” he adds.
Berglandmilch has been powered exclusively by green hydroelectricity since May 2013. This also makes a considerable contribution to a sustainable energy balance.
